TONASKET is a small community located along the Okanogan River. Tonasket’s population is under 1,000, however the bus route covers an area the size of Rhode Island. One of the major excitements of a lot of student’s summer vacation involved going to the city pool. Tonasket’s city pool was opened in 1948 and is located at History Park. Tonasket’s city pool has been closed since 2012 providing limited recreational activities for youngsters in the Tonasket area. In order to get the Tonasket pool re-opened the city needs enough funds to restore or re-build the current pool. The pool, which was last renovated in 1991, is out of compliance with state and federal safety and disability requirements. Tonasket Middle School students are trying to raise money to help with the pool funding. Please VOTE today and help the city of Tonasket restore or re-build a city pool!
